  • starting September 1, if Gov. Rick Perry signs a bill to do away with night and truck (provided car speed limit is above 70 -i.e. 75,80) limits on interstates , truck drivers will be able to go 75 mph day and night, even 80 on I-10,I-20 as well as cars. A first in Texas history, we've come a long way Texas.

    Truck Speed Limit timeline

    60 NIGHT: 55 May 1987-Aug 31, 1999

    70 NIGHT: 65 Sep 1, 1999-present

    75-80 ? 24/7 Sep 1, 2011 (governor's signature pending)

  • Nice. isn't that rock pretty crappy for climbing? we're around Palo Duro and it is like sand. crumbley as heck

  • Cool. Show us more of your bike, back pack, camp site...you and your adventure are part of the scenery. I used to solo hitch-hike and back pack all over the world in the 70s...great times. Check out a great wanderer of the 1930s desert Southwest by the name of Everett Ruess. Thanks for sharing your trip...it brought back sweet memories to this old timer!

  • Very dramatic scen ery and iron maiden fantastic.

  • Thanks for sharing! I need to get out to west Texas and do some climbing myself... long overdue...

  • that was cool.
