Vic Fontaine/Benjamin Sisko - The Best Is Yet To Come

This is from the Star Trek : Deep Space Nine episode "7x15 : Badda-Bing, Badda-Bang", at the end where James Darren and Avery Brooks sing a little duet. Like most of Darren's songs, it's a Sinatra tune.
The episode was alright. Certainly trying to be very comedic right before the nine part finale which was, for the most part about depressing matters. An impressive segue.
An interesting note: until about 25 minutes into the episode, Sisko absolutely hated this period in time, and he thought Vic's program was stupid. It begs the question: How the hell does Sisko know the words?!
I might post more Vic Fontaine songs some day soon (because there's none on YouTube), but I might get banned by Viacom or something. Whatever!

I am 15, two years ago I was watching every star trek series because of the movie, I watched DS9 with low expectation, at the end of the series I felt every character was my family

You liked it better than TNG because it *was* better than TNG.

Ron Moore had much more influence over the writing and development of the story in DS9 than when he was writing for TNG...a darker tone, story arc episodes, more minor but recurring characters...a lot of ideas that emerged here became more fully developed in BSG:RI when he had much greater control as the creator of that show.

Opinion has nothing to do with it; it was simply a far better quality show. Pound for pound DS9 had far less crappy episodes than TNG, the characters had more depth and development (as well as way better recurring characters -- really, are you gonna put Guinan up against Garak, or Lore versus Martok), and the production values were top level from day one. Demonstrably a better show and the only reason people argue so hard for TNG is nostalgia, period.

I know exactly what you mean. I've been watching every series in order to judge them for myself. The thing is, I'm nearly done DS9 and I can't think of a bad thing to say about it. It's those darn characters, they stick to you. ST, in any series, always seems to have fantastic characters. My favourite thing about a story is always the characters anyway. And man, do I ever care about these guys. As much as the TOS or TNG crews. It's all their little complexities. The heart that was put into them.
