@AkanaKhaitZalika There's no need to be defensive. I didn't say that R was a better artist. Even if i did, we're expressing opinions and it's nothing to take that seriously. I understand your feelings about R but as a complete artist, you can't front. You might only recognize the sexual songs but his voice is one of the most soulful, without studio effects. He writes, produces, arranges and sings whole albums. I agreed that Omar is in a class of his own.

@nuneswhite I'm sorry but R. Kelly has NOTHING on Omar, and I remember R.Kelly's 1st release on CASSETTE (thats how far back i go). NO COMPARISON, OMAR's music is not primarily based on sex. Omar writes about different aspects of life with variation and tact. A better comparison would be EWF, Stevie Wonder, Erykah Badu, Carol King and James Taylor as far as writers are concerned.

R.Kelly is the only artist i see who has anywhere near the talent of Omar as a writer, producer, vocalist, arranger from a WHOLE artist point of view. This brother is the most original of all. His falsetta right down to his baritone and how he uses both in between 5 words is unmatched.
