I saw her (Mme Alonso) many times and I remember her doing that coda with
fouettes with double, triple and more pirouettes... I remember when Maya Pli-
setskaya came to Havana in 1965 and tried to overshine....
Mme Alonso danced the Pas de Deux of III Act of Coppelia with Rodolfo Rodriguez and she was superb....!!!!! What a great night....!!!!

Este video es divino, esque ella es impresionante, claro este tipo de ballet no se ve en estos dias, porque hoy tenemos a todas las bailarinas una igual de la otra haciendo atletismo y piruetas sin ton ni son...Alicia!!!!!Me encantas !!Por y para siempre!!

Estoy sorprendido con tus nuevos clips, nunca antes vistos....este es maravilloso, dobles, cierra con cuatro piruetas, en 1957 eso era una osadia...algo fuera de lo normal, su tecnica era impresionante, nunguna otra ballerina bailaba asi en la decada de los 50s. Fabulosa.

This is the first time that in the US was staged the full-length choreography of this ballet, and Miss Alonso staged it, directed and danced it, it was with the Greek Ballet in Los Angeles and my parents were there, I was told that it was magnificent, a great occasion. Amazing, isn't' it?!!!

Alicia brought with her some of the most promising ballet dancers from Cuba like Mirta Pla, Josefina Mendez. You can see Josefina Mendez in the corp de ballet. It was a great Coppelia, beautiful and flashing I am told for those who saw it in person. !957, more than 50 years ago! Wow!
