Video by Mike Carter. Video shot in 2003. A police officer was shot dead while trying to break down the front door of an elderly man. The man shot the officer when he broke into the man's home. The police officer was attempting to arrest the man on a warrant to appear in housing court the next day. The old man failed to appear before the court to answer charges of being a negligent landlord, for having a back stairway in disrepair and other building code violations. The alleged scofflaw violator had one tenant in his building. The alleged offender was shot dead by multiple gunshots fired by police. The Chicago police department allege that the man appeared in his doorway, with a weapon , and refused to relinquish the weapon.(Mike Carter is available for freelance, contract,or full-time work nationally)
