Predictive Modeling is the first tutorial in the Inspired Servant video series. In this video, Ken McKibben of MediaMerge demonstrates how computer-based 3D modeling can be used as part of the design process to keep everyone on the same page while exploring all of the creative possibilities for your space.
The traditional 2D approach requires you to look at floorplan and elevation drawings on paper and somehow decipher how a space is going to look and feel. This is very difficult for most non-technical committee members.
The new 3D approach delivers a photo-realistic rendering that is, in essence, a picture of the final project, complete with textures and colors as they will look in real life. Instead of the entire group coming to separate subjective conclusions on how your new facility is going to look based on drawings, the whole team can view the same image and instantly be on the same page with one another.

This is an excellent demonstration of the use of 3D design in worship spaces. More churches should hire firms using this technology earlier in the design process.
