Dick Cheney is on a media blitz promoting his memoir, "In My Time: A Personal and Political Memoir". It's out today and Cheney is saying that "heads will explode" upon reading it. We see a now notorious former vice president vehemently defend the policies of his administration, including the most gruesome of torture. Retired U.S. Col. Lawrence Wilkerson, former chief of staff to Colin Powell weighs in.

So should we expect better standards of behaviour from the USA compared to Russia?

America is a Republic, a constitutional Republic of a democratic nature. It should stand behind those rights defined in the Constitution; those very rights that Bush, Cheney and Obama swore to defend.

America is no better than the terror it claims to fight, worse perhaps because of the hypocrisy under which it labours.

  • Cheney, as nasty as he was, pales in comparison to the worst of the Russkies.

  • truth, and Honesty truly shine...

  • We need to see men like Lawrence Wilkerson speak up, otherwise the world will believe that every person in a position of power in America is a psychopath.

  • Cheney came to give his right-wing fascist talk in Vancouver, Canada. People paid $400 to hear his warped ideology. Cheney is scum.

  • Cheney gives me the creeps.

  • Don't forget the millions of $ that Cheney & his cohorts made from the war/ reconstruction game. Leaving aside his lies about WMDs - the rape & pillage of US taxpayers via all those inflated no-bid, cost-plus 'reconstruction contracts' awarded to his corporate cronies should make Cheney a candidate for the firing squad just on its own.

He exemplifies the malignant corporate-military kleptocracy at the heart of the US govt. that controls the war economy. Presidents change, but not much else.

  • someone steal the chairs?

  • Old dick didn't take the chance of being water boarded during the Vietnam war when he was young and it was his turn to serve his country in the military.. He used insider connections (five deferments) to keep out of harm's way. Later he was a big CHICKEN HAWK and didn't have any reluctance to sending far better men than himself (a pitiful excuse for a man) off to their deaths. Chaney epitomizes the war wimp. He loved to send good men and women off to war, but was too cowardly to go himself.
