I was a student at Berry in the late 80's. This is just embarrassing. This must be the latest fad on campus? The ban isn't embarrassing the people that would be using this thing are embarrassing!!! What's happened to the Berry students, they sound like a bunch of hipster dufuss. People in the Middle East would laugh themselves silly seeing upper middle class students at BERRY COLLEGE smoking this thing. Its like going to Japan and seeing everyone dress like Michael Jackson.

are u serious nueron? If a person wants to smoke let him, if he wants to drink let him, watever! It's not u that's doing it, it's them and they are doing it by choice. Why take something away from someone when they have chosen to do it?

In regards to the comment about Middle Eastern students not being allowed to smoke from a hookah...

there isn't much difference between that and telling international students who are under the age of 21 that they are not allowed to imbibe...despite being of age in their native country.

Hookahs are probably a safe and acceptable method of partaking in an activity that is neither safe nor is it as socially acceptable as it once was (that is, smoking tobacco).

The problem with the hookah is that it is way too fun and way too sexual for college campus. If I'm not mistaken, fun was banned on most campuses during the 90s and sexuality on campus has been officially banned since the former 60s radicals took over campuses. The strangest thing about college these days is that students, yes students, are interested in banning all sorts of things. Back in my day, students tried to gain freedom, and now they try to oppress it. Weird.

As a student at Berry, i dont believe that the hookah is enjoyed by a majority of students on campus. Honestly I dont believe its wrong for Berry to ban Hookah smoking. And they're definilty far from being Nazis. I believe hitler did some things that are a lot worse things than taking harmful substances away from his citizens.

I completely agree with the the panelists! I think that the hookah ban is bullshit. Why is is just Hookah's that are banned. Smoking hookah is a social event that is relaxing for a college student, it takes us away from the worries of exams and normal college stresses. The only reason hookahs were banned is because the Nazis of Berry College only care about their image and not the students.
