The Broadway Dance Orchestra was really Vincent Lopez's orchestra on most records, but a few may have been made by another group.

Para..., I believe the California Ramblers recorded for Edison as The Golden Gate Orchestra. I'm not sure if anyone has definitive information on the personnel of the BDO.

I am 90% sure that the Broadway Dance Orch is The California Ramblers performing under another name. Edison Discs had a longer playing time than the lateral 78s but were only playable on Edison vertical machines.

EdisonSquirrel, LMAO! Thank you my friend. It's coming along and will hopefully be featured here soon. YF, J.

It's so much better sound on the diamond discs than the 78's from the same time!

Paal, You think so? I find the tremendous variance in DD quality very annoying. Some DDs can sound fantastic. This is a very good one, but I have lots more that sound very poor. I like 'em, but I love my 78s ;-) Regards, J.
