  • @driftwood6525 ~ Hey L ~ thanks for watching ~ i will have to LET YOU KNOW..i just ordred an AMP meter ( digital ) from ebay ~BTW- thanks for the info on that on where and what to get!!! ~ im sure the amps are up there a bit.. you know, it seems the bigger the motor, the LESS draw i am using... something to do with LOAD resistance on a rated current draw of the power tool? anyway ~ to all those who read this !~ CHECK OUT driftwoods channel ~ A W E S O M E all electric boat !!!

  • going well looks the fastest yet, wondered what the current draw is from the 0n board batteries at full speed

  • @craigsmithx ~hey craig ~ yes yes yes~ i was wondering if you had thoughts about that. but, the gen set is REALLY COOL and i like the idea of incorp. electric trol motors with it should be pretty quiet as well as economical

  • @craigsmithx ~hey craig ~the cool thing about this steering system is, it is CLUTCH controlled so ~ when it goes to the stops, it will not burn out the motor or overload curent draw in wires! AND~~the port stbd helm switch is " momentary " so, the steering system gas two fail safes!!!

  • I confess I been resistant to the on/off electric steering. But. Store bought electric steering starts at 3 or 4 grand & goes insane expensive from there. Maybe we can figure a way to take your economical DIY & introduce feedback & speed of turn movement at the control. Like a model remote airplane has.

  • Chris, you're inspiring me new ideas for my boat! That genset might never pan out as intended but the 24v electric motor could go where you have an angle grinder. & further more I'd be a lot more comfortable if I had solar panels. Please do videos with your solar panels & charging system :)
