Can I just say, the Metamorphoses is so much better in Latin... I know if you don't do Latin you don't really have the option, but that man was a litterary genius. There are so many parts of it which only really make sense when you see the stylistic devices used in the Latin... ♥

I completely disagree with you. You shouldn't stereotype an entire nation. Yes, it's true that capitalism and mass media have resulted in an out-of-hand consumer culture, but America has also produced so many wonderful innovations. It's big and diverse, and there is not just one finite culture. America is a melting pot of the bad and the good. Yes, you can go to McDonald's, but you can also go to Chez Panisse.
