Necrons! The renewed hope of Xenos!

Sure shooting and charging everything in the army would work, but 1) it would be terribly inefficient as the one maybe 400 point unit would distract your entire 1500+ army for at least a turn, giving your opponent literally a "free turn" to do whatever he/she wants. That's the whole point behind deathstar units like Lychguard.
Also, the IG player in the game also had scarabs to worry about, which was a big deal to him because his army's strength was lots of mech.

@xtechmarine Well am going to deny that, every race has the cabability to destory these hard hitting units find and use them, or failing that is shoot or charge every thing in the army at them (I would be surprises to see 2 10 man units in a normal game) if the IG play in this was able to kill them all then he would have been in good shape for the rest of the game. They are not op it's just how you deal with them.

@avatus775544 well yes of course in some areas, but the fact that a single unit alone can, single handed, wipe pretty much the whole enemy force. And I know there should be plenty floating around, but in my experience there is no effective way to knock out Lychguard, especially with a Res orb around. Bigass guns? Nope, 4+ invuln plus res orbs for the ones that do fall. Close combat? Wait are you serious? Some Necron units really are op, and no one can deny that.

@xtechmarine if you'r reffering to the necrons then you mistaken, they've been nerfed a lot.

@RobotsGreatWar2 yeah ofc! every army got it weaknesses! just have to counter it properly =)
