No. absolutely not.
Oh, for some people, yes :it's not as boring as conventional structures.
You have to consider that the music you're listening to is not necesseraly less weirder... you're just accustomed to it and that's what defines your musical field.
It takes time to "enter" in the world of such a great musician that's RIbot and it's the same for others.
Just read about the emergence and the reasons of the free jazz in a time, you'll probably understand a few components of all this. :-)

it's amazing how he manages to make his guitar sound like a Koto here!

@amnesiacphlgm it's hard to tell... but being a musician myself,I can tell you that a lot of the times it's natural to insert melodies and musical lines that belong to one song into another song and viceversa...sort of like talking in english and putting a spanish word here and there! But I believe that there is a video of Ribot playing this at The Stone and it's not Im confessing:Im sure of that...so maybe you can find your answer there my friend!Ciao...

I like a lot the camera zoom

@GioelePagliaccia1 though if you look at the first video that pops up when you type in "confessin" and "marc ribot", at 5:00 the same song starts (the part I originally looked for is played at 5:50). and in the description it says I'm confessin' that I love you, so maybe this is it and he only plays this part live. I don't know, I'd love to know :(

@GioelePagliaccia1 thank you so much for your response! still I'm a bit cluesless.. I listened to the song on the record, but couldn't find the part from this video that begins at 1:44 - could you tell me which part of the song you meant? St. James Infirmary from the same record also sometimes reminds me of this particular part, but I don't think that it's the exact same thing, at least I don't hear it.

@amnesiacphlgm The song should be I'm Confessing (That I Love You)...Its available on cd...Its on the Saints album!Hope this helped...Ciao

@MrEugeneStolbowie He's no outsider. He plays with all the best people! He toured with McCoy Tyner!
There's nothing worse than a camera man who thinks the film is about him.
