From the fab lab of Keith Aviles (that's "aaah vuh leez", folks. Apologies to Keith for the mispronunciation in the vid) and Machine Head Pedals we have a new rock box o' Hell - The Lightning.

Plenty of headroom, grit and raw rock power are what this box is all about . Check it out. :)

  • Which is the best marshall type overdrive pedal in your opinion? What do think about wampler plextortion, or rockett pedals plex drive, or catalinbread dls, zvex box of rock? which is the best in your opinion?

  • @ziggy8757 I haven't tried any Zvex pedals or the Rockett stuff, I'm afraid. I can vouch for the others though and they're great. The DLS is a killer, that's well established. The Crunch Box is a favourite of many although quite high gain. And Wampler do Marshalls in many flavours, all great. My favourite? Probably the Plexi-Drive.

  • That clean tone from 1:45 sounded like the guitar's going DI.

  • @YofterMofter Nup. Just the clean channel of the Laney VC50. One of the best cleans out there IMO.

  • Reminds me of my 83'Big Box Rat. Sounds great. Thanks for the demo as always. =)

  • @musickbox88 My pleasure, sir. We aim to please.

Interesting comparison with Rat. I couldn't have made that comparison myself because I've never owned one. Shame on me! I think.

  • I've never heard anything like this!?Very interesting.

  • sounds a bit mudy on the low end.

  • i think the guy that makes these goes by 11 gauge on "telecaster "guitar forum" i think anyways ??????

  • @ziggy8757 what you need is a rothwell hellbender, best marshall in a box hands down

  • @Burgerman666 You should definitely get one. It's not so great through Fender style amps but Britished voiced amps give it that special sound that everyone talks about. Especially through an AC30. The older ones do vary a bit depending on the year and which model (big box/small box). My favorite is the Big box from the early 80's. VERY quiet for medium/hi-gain pedal.

  • @Burgerman666 Yeah it was weird cause the other clean parts sounded like an amp. Only that first clean run had that hi-fi edge. Anyway, thanks for posting and keep 'em coming.
