  • i would definitely work their psoas muscle if they were supine, and help them by showing/verbalizing to them some much needed stretches, and any sort of work on the legs during the session. and then ask them if they feel relaxed to finally turn prone so i can do as much for their back as possible befor the end of their session.

  • I'd absolutely encourage client to side lie. Use several support cushions. If Pn is right side Low back Id put them on their L side with R knee flexed over a pillow. This will open up problem area for stretching. I know when my back hurts its because I havn't stretched and the muscles are shortened. Stretching is a great tool for MT's Another one is to pull your knees up towards close to chin while side lying.

  • There is a great deal of good that can be done for this client in both supine and side lying. (Psoas supine would be a big one.)
