Much of the content of these posts is culled from the excellent BBC documentary film 'Songs of Innocence and Experience' which was first shown on BBC 2's Arena arts programme in 1984. The programme took the Everlys back to their childhood roots and included interviews with; not only Don & Phil, but many of those who were most instrumental in their successful musical career. Felice & Boudeloux Bryant, Chet Atkins, and members of their extended musical family. A great film if you can find it.
Thank you for posting this. It also shows a big part of the history of The Everly Brothers and they are the best. They also wrote a lot of their songs.
Wonderful video! Thanks for sharing this. The part about the Kentucky coal mining is interesting to me - my dad was a Kentucky coal miner in his youth. Love seeing how the Everlys came to be such good singers and musicians.
