The anime is Asian produced, but the characters look anything but Asian.

@ignatei i disagree.They're are obviously supposed to be Asian. Not making the actors Asian would disrespectful to Asians & fans of the series. George Takei said something like that about the moveing "Akira". white people in Anime are usually indicated "white" if they have a large pointy nose. just saying... The thing about Battle Angel Alita is that the setting of the series was in former America D: Sure it was an asian anime/manga but the setting is nontheless in america because of a map that they showed on the eighth volume where Scrapyard is in former Kansas city so... an entire american cast might not be too bad...

I agree I never want to see a mistake like Dragonball or The Last Airbender. But this is fucking James Cameron! He's a great director and would no doubt make it a great hit

well, the james cameron will crash and burn in movie hell, if he made alita asian. alita actually told me she's iranian descent. plus, she actually has gray eyes. this will the same lie as today's anime of everyone looking white. sorry, but the entire cast cannot be oriental. if he did that, he will have learned nothing about honesty. -by the way, i used to be shawneyj, but god transfigured me into the boy, david lowenstein. also elita/alita has to be a demiangel.

the asian request is illegitimate this time. the tipharians were blond Caucasians. and alita is from mars, so theres no real reason for her to be asian. We don't know what country the scrapyard is in, but most of the other characters just look robotic

If he casts Asian characters, the film will only appeal to a largely Asian audience. The manga depicts Caucasian characters and this is what we should see. At the very least, the character of Alita should be half-Caucasian with special focus on the big, expressive eyes.

another thing. there still must be honesty in a movie, or it is just just another lord buddha america's propaganda, a huge outhouse. that's the cliche of making everyone white or asian. it's all the same lie. america and buddha both agree, everything is an illusion. elita will get mad, since she's jewish and knows she's true. -david l.
