***READ!***
I HIGHLY suggest you watch in high quality!

Shortly before the release of Halo 3, several people began posting fan videos with Halo trailers and cut scenes while using the song Lux Aeterna (Requiem for A Dream). Although most of them were great, many were flawed, so I decided to jump on the 'Halo Requiem for A Dream Train' and give it a shot. I decided I would take the best from all the videos and put it all together to make an even better one, so thank you all for your inspiration.

I started on this video back in August of 2007 and burned through many different ideas until I've come out with this final product.

If you notice, I tried avoiding video repeats that would end up making the video completely dull (although there are few repeats, these were intentional for the story [more on that later])

If you watch hard enough, you'll notice that there is a story within this video: If you imagine the 'Starry Night' Commercial as the present time, you'll notice Master Chief has visions throughout the beginning of the video of others suffering, and more importantly along the middle of the video, his quest to reunite with Cortana. You'll notice him looking back to when Cortana forced him to leave her on High Charity, then all of a sudden, it cuts to the present, showing him meditating on the event, when he is cut off by noticing the Covenant surrounding this dug up structure (adds drama). Then it shows more visions of him fighting his way to save those suffering until he reunites with Cortana near the end, then cutting to the present again, showing him make one last stand to make those visions of his reunion with Cortana a reality (Starry Night).

One near-fatal flaw I noticed in most Halo fan videos was the fact the action didn't match with the music. This is what could ultimately decide whether your video does well or not. You'll notice the action in the video matches the mood of the music: the suffering in the slow beginning, the build up with Master Chief walking toward the camera, all the intense fighting as the music is at it's peak, the vast crater as the music slows but plays grandly, the slow buildup again when Johnson believes Chief is dead, the peak of the buildup of the music when Chief reveals himself to be alive.

PLEASE don't attempt to take credit for my hard work. I didn't spend nearly a year putting this video together to have some sorry prick say he put it together himself. I put a logo near the bottom of the screen to ensure that nobody tries to take credit for my work.

Thanks for reading/watching, I hope you enjoy!

  • OH MY GOD, This is the best halo montage/tribute i've seen. I Swear, at 3:56, my heart just stopped to beat. when he looked back. this video really made me feel soemthing. I am truly amazed. I hope you get this comment, because i do believe you should get alot more credit.

  • @yoyoboyem

It's always heart-warming to occasionally see such positive feed-back on such an old video that many today would consider to be 'obsolete', due to its lack of explosive effects and a high-octane clips (I only had Window MM). Years ago, I was, instead, aiming to hit the audience in the heart, which this video seems to manage to pull of, even today. Thank you very much for the feedback! It really does put a grin on my face, reminding me the effort I put into this video was worth it.

  • dude,i like this video alot.but i would like to leave this comment:

i noticed that most other videos with req4adream in halo are very stale, you sir have beaten all of them by a long shot.this video was perfect, even though i hate staring at master cheif for over 6 minutes and mostly of his trailers.plus i would like to add, even though this was mostly human-side based,i would like to see a proper covenant tributer using this song for a change.

  • @jakaloverlord

Well thank you for the positive comment as well as the observation! A little critique has never hurt anybody. This was something that I made in my spare time during high school, merely for fun. A Covenant tribute video sounds like a very provoking and original idea. I don't have much time these days for videos, anymore; you should give it a shot; I'd like to see the final product!

  • Impressive! I wasn't fond of the constant white-out transitions, but overall it was an excellent tribute and [I think] captured the spirit of Halo. Great job!

  • @wellsley117

Thank you! I understand the gripe against the transitions; I was working with WMM, at the time. I'm sure you know how that goes. :P

  • @sharpshooter0508 I know what you mean, i've seen halo requiem for a dream in otehr accounts and i made the same statement for all: there is alot of action, explosion. Most of them are at first impressive, but when you look closely at the storyline, you see something missing from the game Halo. first you dont feel the same feeling then in game. and now, its too much about the better effect. But your is natural. and I love how the video aint about just the fight.

  • @sharpshooter0508

thank you! yheah sure,il give it a shot.when my computer recovers from a bad virus.thanks again for replying!

  • @sharpshooter0508 I don't know what program that is so I don't know how it goes, but nonetheless I will remain sympathetic towards your plight with such a devious program :)
