Yeah, I made that comment back when I was frustated with not being able to do it. Now is not the case. :D

You never have to do mid-air object jumping to complete any of the gold medal challenges. They can all be done without abusing any glitches in the physics engine.

I just wish Valve hadn't made the challenges, by logical means, impossible. If you follow all of the normal rules of the game, the gold medal is impossible to get. They're basically saying, "Here! Find out the best way to cheat!" I mean, this vid is a bit more practical but the two portal method? That's just impossible to physics. Using the box as a step ladder multiple times in mid-air, uh huh >_>

how the hell u grab cube at 0:04 i been trying for 15 mins at least on the xbox and i cant grab it at all

I haven't tried this on the Xbox, so I can't really comment on how easy it would be to do with a gamepad rather than a mouse and keyboard. I do know that it took me a LONG time to get right on the PC. Just keep trying!
A few tips: make sure you're trying to grab the box at the last possible moment, keep in mind that you can't grab it if the platform is in the way of your crosshair, and be sure to get as much height as possible by standing on the button to begin your jump towards it.

How on earth do you get the cube in the beginning? I'm attempting to jump off of the highest lip of the button and hit the "e" button at the apex while sights are on the cube. No luck. What am I doing wrong?

The apex of your jump might not necessarily be the best time to try and grab the cube. Try to make the grab at the last possible moment right before the cube is entirely obscured by the platform it's on. Other than that, just keep trying, it takes a good amount of luck.
