Celtic culture was (and still is) very widespread, but modern science has done away with the old 20th century notion that the Celts (and everyone else) belonged a singular race. Rather they came from a rich variety of ancestral people, the descendants of whom still live in those countries where Celtic artifacts have been found. We Celts have certainly done our own share of pushing others around too, unfortunately. We're just as human as other ethnic groups.

On my reading, the word "Orc" was not invented by Tolkein; it was used by the English Saxons to refer to the Normans. They didn't use it to refer to Vikings or other Northmen.

What about the celts being from the original ten tribes of Israel? Read it somewhere.

Glesker, the Angles and Saxons (and Jutes) were from the lowlands of northern Germany, basically mercenaries hired by the Britons to keep them there wily old Celts (also immigrants from the continent) at bay. So, orc is a Teutonic word which means, basically, a ferocious warrior who likes to dance around in his underwear (tighty whities) in front of a mirror while eating buttered popcorn, Goobers and Oh Henry bars and washing it all down with Red Bull and a torrent of Jim Beam. Es verdad!!!
