I restore headlights and fix minor paint damage for instant wheels and I am sanding out some scratches on a Tacoma.
I sanded the scratches out with 2000. After that, I compounded out the paint. From that point, I polished out the paint, followed by the sealer.
The results were bodyshop quality.
Thank you Instant Wheels
I've been watching your videos and I'd have to say good job pops ! Sure beats going to a body shop and paying top dollar ( witch I've done ) but not any more ! Thanks to you

Marty why is your buffer skipping so much on the surface of the truck. It shouldn't be skipping if you have a sufficient amount of polish on your pad.

@drla02
You can buy clearcoat and then reapply it yourself.

Was that a deep scratch? It seemed like a light one to me. I would have tried to wax & buff it out first. It would seem to me that sanding, no matter the grit, would take away some of the clear coat & that would affect how that area would stand up to weather in the future. The paint may possibly fade a lot faster or the clear coat would become dull quicker. I know you are an expert but I was just curious-no offense intended.
