After noticing several tons of fresh, steaming manure in the middle of Highway 140 down near the Nevada border, we happened upon a large cattle drive right in the middle of the road. If you've never found yourself surrounded by bewildered bovines, you're in for a treat. Three honest-to-goodness cowpokes (two cowboys and a cowgirl) bring up the tail end of the herd. You'll see cattle nonchalantly crossing a phony (painted-on) cattle guard (what's the point?) as well as one feisty young bull attempting romance while on the trail. Sound track by the Blues Brothers and the Dead Kennedys... You got it-- what else but the Rawhide theme song? Mosey on up, pardner, and enjoy.
love it.... yay for oregon cowboys.:)

Your cow are so fat that when they ask, Why is the grass always greener on the other side? you can answer, 'Cause you aren't standing on it.

well its easier to keep them on the road, and its safer and easier for the horses than riding around thorug the brush, and where i am we have to chase em for 4 miles down the road to the winter pasture and here in northern California theres too thick of brush to be able to drive the cattle.

This is a silly question, but why don't the cowboy's have the cattle off road? I know that they would have considered this option, and probably have a very valid reason for doing it the way they have, I'm just curious really!
