On this day (January 6th) in the year of 1912, New Mexico was admitted as the 47th state in the Union.
New Mexico has constantly been inhabited by people for around 10-20,000 years. Even some of the earliest American native men are referred to as "Clovis" and "Folsom" man, after the towns in New Mexico which they were found
On this day at 11 30 am MTS everyone in New Mexico will go out and honk their horns in celebration. From the city workers, to the average citizens.
New Mexico is rightfully called "The Land of Enchantment"
Please enjoy my photo collage, all taken by myself.

On a somber note, today is also the 2 year anniversary of my father's death. on the 9th of January will be his 60th birthday. 8 days after than on the 17th will be my bday. So a crazy next few days for me
RIP pops (1-6-09)
@JoeDixon Yeah, most of the state is over 5,000 ( a mile) in elevation. So the weather is similar to Colorado, just not as cold in the winter. But we still see our fair share of snow. But it's good, we do have some of the best ski and snowboard resorts in the country after Washington, Colorado and California
