@StevenInATree Reminds me of Robert Johnson's story.... :)
Couldn't play worth much either, disappeared for a couple of years, came back and blew everybody's mind.
As you say, when you put your mind to it... (+ some talent too:)

@StevenInATree I met him a few years ago at a concert here in Las Vegas and asked him how he got so good. His reply was and I quote: I started out as a kid and I played every day. You have to practice every day and you must never give up. I just heard he lost his vision. I wish him all the best.

Hey look, Rick James is playing bass!

@seekermike007 copley, ohio, near akron. i think he's in his 50s. and i havent listened to much, i found a copy of a cd my dad's friend gave him that said "jeff golub/temptation" on it. i asked him about it and then he told me that story and that jeff eventually toured with billy squire and rod stewart and is a successful session and solo artist. i still think its amazing that he's made it so far. in contrast, my dad hasnt picked up a bass guitar since 68' which was when jeff started playing

@StevenInATree Copley where? didn't hear about him till 30 years? Jeff can't be that old, can he? have you listened to his avenue blue cd? good stuff, i am a longtime fan in Boston area.

@shanomanano Y yo pensaba que nada más a México no venían (ni se orginaban) artistas de este calibre, una pena que en nuestros países solo tengamos pop de mala calidad.

he wish he'd wrote it!! it's merely a jam!!
Yea, he was in Boston studying jazz, then left for NYC and hooked up with Billy Squire. This cat is the real deal...

this guy makes me lol. my dad knew him back in high school in copley. he was a little younger than my dad and used to follow my dad's band around when he was trying to learn guitar. they would blow him off cause he was so bad back then. theyd say, "aww jeff leave us alone, you're making us sound like $%#!" and he would keep following them around. then my dad joined the army and didn't hear about him til 30 years later.
moral of the story: you can do just about anything if you put your mind to it
