I have an old vinyl LP recording with Bernard Garfield playing this and the tempo sounds pretty much right on with what he does.

Herr Fagott plays the cadenza of Milan Turcovic which is a really good one, you are right.

I also ask you for suggestions to improve the cadenza. I played Mozart again with orchestra some days ago and made some experiments around it, but didn't find something that really works better for it. For example if I put a minor region (you can do it at the trill section) it gets just too long for my taste of proportion. Which cadenzas do you like?
