Indeed I have been communicating with Anthony at Pen and he has been wonderfully responsive and informative. So much so that I am now fully confident that I will be making the right combo choice on my imminent order. A clear and logical explaination was given for spooling mono rather than braid line as fish need alot of playing and relatively loose drag. This has also convinced me that rear drag reel will my preferred choice over the front adjusting drag reel. 1st class customer service !!

@dclk8282 the rod can handle them. just take your time, dont bully the fish and play the fish well. dont exepct to be able to pull fish about like you do with a full size rod; but with time and care you should be able to land them.Practice on smaller stuff first to get the feell of them and see how they work and then just get bigger and bigger!I push them to extreme but i know they should be able to handle bigger than even this fish!

I shall certainly try to make a clip of first few catches to post here and forward to Pen. Anthony's enlightening communication absolutely dispelled any worries I had about making the right combo choice for me, as buying a rod online is not like going down to local tackle shop and getting a feel for the product with face to face advice. Certainly the closest thing to going to local shop that I have ever had with online shopping.

@dclk8282 thats what he aims to do with his company! and i help him out the very best i can! between the two of us you have the best support for fishing with a PRE that you can ever have!im in the UK so you ever have any issues or trouble then you just let me know and ill help as much as i can! i truly dont think you will have any trouble at all though! maybe we could even get together and bot us get on a video eh?

Thanks for your dilligent comments and response. Suppose I will just have to bite the bullet and buy 50 combos in one go as shipping cost $20 if buying one or 50.. crazy but there you go!! I also noticed that they are charging VAT .. Surely if this is an export from USA to uk this will be Vat exempt ??

@dclk8282 @dclk8282 dunno about that.your best bet will be to contact the CEO: MIke; if you ask him if he can do any better on shipping for multiple combos or whatever then you might be able to sort something out. He is a nice bloke and it never hurts to ask.Look at like this as well; if you buy a combo, then create an awesome video advertising the product then you can get yourself a free reel etc as well!

@dclk8282 plus start making decent vids like i do and you might even make Pro Staff! The PRE company will sponsor you to produce videos and then you get to play with all the products!Thats how i started out and now Pen Fishing Rods.com sponsors me and my videos so i know if i need anything then they have my back fully covered!You pay a little extra but customer service and the guarantee on the products is 2nd to none!

hmm.. the $20 shipping cost when trying to order through paypal to uk is putting me off.. nearly as much as the rod and reel !! anyone know if Penfishingrods will send by cheaper method?? after all it only a small item.

@dclk8282 thats the cost im afraid.they wont send by a cheaper method because thats all regsitered and insured to make sure you get the product!its a shame the postage is how it is but its better to get the combo and be sure it will arrive than to be there worrying where it is!you can buy cheaper versions but they are NOT pen rod extremes and wont handle the fish that you see catching in my vids!
