Hey dalelepore15, I was with the 173rd during their last deployment. OEF8.
Good luck, bro. I was with Able Company, 2/503rd. I hope you're with a support company. Lol. We were out in BFE the whole time. Getting power, when it worked, from a diesel fueled generator. It's not so bad. At least you'll have a deployment worth deploying for. Theres nothing worse than being deployed and not really getting to see the real Afghanistan. Good luck man. Sky Soldiers forever.

thanks for the response brian it appears that ill be relieving your guys when i get there. were supposed to be there a little after early april. were doing alot of training lol would it be a good idea to take a laptop? also i was wondering if my cell phone would work over there to keep in touch with my wife and kids. im glad to hear i wont be staying in a tent this time lol thanks again god bless ill keep you in my prayers

MM86 -- Yes, bring a laptop if you will be at Camp Blackhorse. We have paid internet availible. Your cell phone may work if it is a tri-band frequency and the locals will place a new SIM card in your phone. If not, you may want to purchase a phone here when you arrive. Take care and God bless.
