  • Use brake clean not carb cleaner.. Better product for cleaning oil from parts

  • @31saint31 - I think i have some brake cleaner. I am also going to scrub it with some other degrease rs first like purple power, dawn dish detergent, and then a final rinse using break cleaner. I think that making it clean is the most in-portent part .

  • How did the block crack? Frozen coolant??

  • JB weld is just resin. ripoff.

  • you also can use gasoline as a degreaser

  • I used some JB Weld today on my transmission. Their is a very tiny non pressurized leak coming from the threads of my cooler line fitting so I figure let me brakleen it and JB Weld it to seal and then when I rebuild my transmission I will buy a new case and rebuild the transmission in that new trans case. So this for me is a semi-permanent repair.

  • lol time to throw that engine out dude..

  • THAT REDNECK REPAIR ONLY WORKS TEMPORARY . JUST WELD IT WITH REAL WELDING ROD.

  • holy shit no good can come from this lol i only found this cus i was looking to see it i can safly use jb weld to fick crack in my thermostat houseing yes i did over titen i know i know srry i only snuged it 29 year old org houstinh any tell me if read ths plz

  • i did the same job drilled a hole on each end fired the engine up just to get a bit warm then heated the block to 450 veed out the crack before hand ran a pass with a mig regular steel wire the guy was to cheap to get nickle rod. i hit every weld with a hammer reground it and repeated a bunch of stringer passes. then jb welded it for any seap leaks that might occur.this was 15 yrs ago and the ol 57 chevy is still runnin.i wish i could of ran nickle rod with a stick tho

  • I think what you need to do mr simmons is go to a tool rental place and get a welder for the price you paid for the glue or the Pawn shop and buy a welder on credit and use it and take it back and bitch it didn't work that way you get a welded job expected to repair your engine block and get your money back because JB weld is noting to fix that engine very long.

  • I hope this works
