Outstanding, version ! Personally, I didnt notice the audience....I was too busy enjoying the music. BTW-It is unfair to try and compare anyone to Hendrix.......he was unique.
I love the audience: they're middle-aged, polite, well off, nicely dressed, never get up from their seats, never raise their voices, applaud very lightly... and are whiter than mayonnaise on white bread with the crusts cut off.
Reply to Jujamb89: Exactly! Hendrix kept on moving on. Experienced is Hendrix classic. Axis & Ladyland were Hendrix classics + experimental stuff. Band of Gypsy's was so Innovative that he left the fans behind. We all love his hits, but his experimental stuff is so far ahead of its time that Humanity is only now catching up with it. Ferry does this song Justice, and yes, "the blonde kid" is great. Who is he? What else has he done? Links please.
