This is an Atomic 4 Engine that was removed from a sailboat. It was cleaned, tsted and cleaned inside and out and some updates made to it. To bring it into the 21st Century. All it needs now is a minor disassembly and some painting and detailing Smithcorp Marine Service online video yacht repair and troubleshooting

  • Although the engine looks like it got hot.....that is residue from OSPHO that was applied to the engine after some severe surface rusting. When these over heat severly, usuall the first sign is the forwarend of the exhaust manifold discolors severly........I have run engines like this for almost an hour....if I want to run it longerI have a hose nearby to to add water....A sailboat motor is also called an IRON GENNY....just like the Auto Pilot is called "OTTO" Thanks for the replies

  • I updated the search info on this.

I will soon be featuring a Bukh DV 10

and A Farymann one cylinder that are in the rebuild process

  • My dad had one of these in his boat. What a POS.

  • Most all sailboat engines are deisel 4 cylinder. Is this the same type as all the other?

  • I thought a sailboat motor was the sail.

  • It looks like that one got almost as hot as mine did at some point.

  • what happens when the bucket of water gets hot?
