@Staceybob UPDATE! I now have a dog scooter and all the set up and we now run as a single dog sled team. I've fell in love with it, and so has my dog :D We got her to start running by getting her to chase someone and then started teaching her the commands from there :D

You know, I don't know much about dog sledding, but I do know a lot about dogs. These dogs are beautiful and obviously very well treated. It is pretty obvious to me that they love what they are doing too! :-) I don't know why someone had a negative comment. Maybe they just didn't look at the video very closely.

Is the brown dog also a husky? ( 1:33 )

@savehedda I think what you are perceiving as brutal isn't quite correct. The dogsare treated the way you see in the video for a reason. When you have many excited dogs, especially when there are several Alphas, (Humans), and lead dogs, the excitement can lead to a dogfight rather quickly. Its controlled, not brutal, otherwise the dogs can shoot out of the box and go off looking for "play" and end up disappearing. Visit a kennel. It will change your perspective. It did for me, I married into it.

if you trained ONE husky to what he has to do to pull a sled and THEN got another dog and let the trained husky teach the other dog by doing? if you get what i mean....lol
-
wow you guys love your dogs so much and i bet they love YOU cause to get to run like that is for a husky HEAVEN....our husky LOVES to run too but i cannot run with him due to a medical condition so he only runs with my hubby....its okay though he still loves going on nice long walks with me :)
But we are planning to breed huskies and also sled train our dogs....would it be wise, if for instance, you trained ONE husky to....cont'D

They're so enthousiastic. Like they were born to run and pull sleds or something.

@RedneckSledDogs Hi, I live in Maxton, NC and I would love for someone to guide me into this because I have started bikjoring with my male but not my female(when it was winter) and I loved it and so did he! message me more about you and your teams please!:D

@Batchagaloop @Batchagaloop Make it fun. Hugs, kisses & cookies! Work with experienced racers. Put new dogs with experienced dogs; they will teach the pups. Training = conditioning & learning the basics of team work. Practice makes perfect i.e. positive reinforcement & repetition of good runs. Hydration; they run on water and good food. Dogs experience stress, so pay attention. Some dogs look like good sled dogs but they arent, so dont force it. Have fun!
Thanks for your comment.

i think it´s brutal how they drag them out of the cages and put them on the chain. if they had respect for these dogs, they yould treat them differently. they are not a toy. its okay to let them pull a sled, but maybe they want to run around a little bit on their own, play (and pee).

@savehedda FYI each and every dog that ever lived with us was treated with great respect and love. No dog was ever "dragged" anywhere. They lived in great conditions with lots of opportunities to run around and play (and Pee).
