  • GOOD JOB but can you say.

    Met-ro-nome :)

  • was I rushing?

    I don't think so.

If so, could you PLEASE put up a similar clip of yourself playing the exact same solo so that I can learn from it?

  • did you have as many problems being heard over the orchestra as i did, when the Kingsville symphony performed this piece? of course, i was in an acoustical dead spot, but people in the back of the hall had kinda a hard time hearing me on that solo.....

  • the orchestration in the excerpt is light enough for this flute solo to be heard clearly... maybe your string section was playing a bit too loud here?

  • Yes, you were rushing. A lot. If you couldn't catch that, then you need to listen more. And I'd advise you to not be so hostile towards people trying to give you advice.

Practice it slower, think about what you sound like and NOT how fast you can play, because that's NOT what music's about. Derr. . .

  • Holy crap, hearing this takes me back...and makes me nervous!! I remember having to play this as a chair test in orchestra and just wanting to cry. I couldn't feel my fingers, I practiced so much. Wow, the memories. It's a rough one, congrats on getting through with good tone and without getting your tongue tied up!

  • I wouldn't say that he's rushing 100% of the time...in fact in the second half of the solo he slows down a bit...The thing I noticed is that the evenness between the fingers isn't exactly 100% solid, resulting in the solo sounding rushed because certain patterns are easier than others in terms of lifting or placing down fingers...He did a good job! Just needs to iron out some finger work :)

  • @Flutist11 yes, your right! should be a bit faster for this solo, but many of the Asian orchs they played at same tempo, including our youth orch.

  • Don't you guys know that it actually says in the music to play that solo faster than everything else? Suggested tempo for the flute solo is 10 beats faster than the original tempo. Go look at the music.

  • You sound like you got overly excited about the solo, and you absolutely were rushing

  • since I dont feel like going through all the comments can anyone tell me the name of the soloist please?

  • i saw fairus behind! wow, he slim down so much!

    very beautiful solo!

  • i loved it...can't wait to play it myself :)

  • well then... I guess I just can't spell! hahaha :P

  • It's spelled hypocrite. >.>
