Rev. Jim Wallis, the founder of the Sojourners Community and editor of Sojourners Magazine, has been on a hunger fast since March 28 to protest Congressional budget cuts. Democracy Now! interviews Wallis the day after President Obama gave a major televised address to outlined his federal budget plan. Wallis criticizes both Obama's and the GOP budget proposals, saying that, "a budget is always a matter of choices," which he says reflect a nation's values.

I truly appreciate Jim Wallis, his work and his courage. I wish more leaders could articulate their beliefs so clearly, and with such honesty and conviction.
