Free-style means your free to rap with any style. So when you watch something like the Lupe,papoose, and jeezy freestyle every one of their verses sounds COMPLETELY different .

Freestyle literally means Free of style. It can be a verse you wrote free of a song. It doesnt have to be off the head. But it does also mean off the head.
If someone says kick a free you spit, dont matter if its off the head or written.
In english there are MANY words that have double meanings! Damn get educated people this is 3rd grade english.
