My HobbyZone Super Cub w/ camera 5 in 1 eDVR Austin Texas sky. I went to a football field a couple hours ago and the wind was not that bad(5~6 MPH) so, it was a good opportunity to mount the camera. This time I mounted the camera to the back toward the wing and it actually worked really well.

Anyway, I was flying so high today and I wanted to gain some high altitude to get a nice picture of Austin's sky. As you can see in the video, I went to so high this time and I lost the control due to the receiver's bad reception. I ran across the football field and connect the transmitter's antenna to the fence near the field to make the signals more powerful and guess what, I got it back again. It was a freaking moment when I even could not see the plane and could not figure out which way it is going. eDVR capacity is 128MB and I just got the six minutes of flying.

  • No, I flown on a plane before, and by the looks of the veiw, I would say it is nearly 1,500-2000 feet. I never even take this thing above 300 feet I'm so scared to fly it that high!

  • Next time I will put a GPS tracker onboard to track some info while flying. I got help from thermal to get high for sure cause it was not that windy to go that up that fast.

  • how do you attach the camera?

  • It is not very hard to attach the camera to the fuselage. I used tape but some people use cable ties which works perfectly.

  • show the whole thing. or did you run out of video?

  • The eDVR just holds 6 minutes.

  • shit man i thought youd never find that!

  • Nice! Yeah, do that and see.

  • I would bet that the running across the field was what got you back in touch with the RC. A fence, at the frequency you are using doesn't make a good antennae. It's also way too long and big.

But I may be wrong! The main thing is you saved the plane!

  • its really amazing how it stayed in the air

  • lol... a reply after one year haha

  • no, he never got it back...that's why he has the video from the plane to show us the flight!

  • Man it pays to have it trimmed out..

    Nice recovery...
