You're right they have changed the internals. I suspect it might have been to stop rascals like us hacking it with linux and running videos, which bursts their bubble about only the Video Ipod being able to run clips.
The day before I made this clip, I actually went into my local Apple store and confronted the staff. After I started showing my nano playing video to customers in the store, they called security and I was politely escorted off their property.

Can you tell me when linux change the program for the Nano 2nd gen. Ive got the 2GB Silver one. And why did they change the firmwall and the CPU ( Which they did), it still the same ipod and hardware. I bet they did that to anoy linux and people would have to buy the video Ipod. THEY ARE PRICKS AND MUGS!!!

how do u play video through linux. I have it on mine( it is a nano) and when I look for the video to play it has a lillte x next to the file. were should i put the video. what file type should it be. and do i need to install another app to play video

U can place the video file in any directory. I copied an .mpg file, so your clip should end it .mpg.
Once you browser to it's location and click it, linux will recognise the extention and launch the video player.

I have seen ppl with Linux on the 2nd gen, but i'm not sure how they did it.
