  • @allison481959 If the strut mounts do not have replacable bushings than yes replace the mounts for now, and i wouldnt be concerned about the struts until you can feel drivabilty issues as i stated in the other message. good luck- MJ

  • @allison481959 The rubber that is dry rotted are called bushings, if you feel that your car rides good i'd jus have the bushings replaced. If you strut does go bad it will jus effect your ride comfort, you will feel bumps more and have more play in your steering wheel over bumps etc. but it would not cause you to wreck. Once again it would effect your steering and comfort of ride, but would not be dangerous. I'm a tech, message me if you have any questions, its not alot of space to explain here

  • HI my car runs smoothly, i have been told i need front struts and monts, and also just most likely just the monts, because the car drives great and the mounts have the rubber around them are dry rotted is all, who do i believe? Should i go with just the mounts since it is a whole lot cheaper, if a strut goes bad what will your car do? Can you wreak? hope yoi can help, thanks allison

  • @inktoxicated Loosen the spring so that there is tension on the top. Don't worry as long as you have a few threads on the nut, it won't pop out.

  • how to u tighten the top nut if the shaft is spinning?

  • I have just completed my own replacement. The garage wanted 800€ for the job. I got the parts on ebay and did it myself. First one took 3 hours, second one less than an hour when I knew what to do.

Thanks a lot for these videos, you have saved my 700€. Fantastic!!

  • each time you change springs or shockers you have to change those top and bottom rubbers, shockers dead rubbers dead, otherwise they cut in time and make noise,
