In 1992 Larry and Brenda Potterfield, founders of MidwayUSA, created the NRA Round Up program to raise funds for the National Rifle Association's Institute for Legislative Action. First deployed at MidwayUSA, this program asks customers to round up their order total to the next highest dollar amount. The difference is collected and each week a check is written to the NRA, who deposits the money is a special fund called the National Endowment for the Protection of the Second Amendment. While the contributions have never been spent, each year the NRA-ILA spends 5% of the balance to fight anti-gun legislation. This program is a crucial component in the war against anti-gun initiatives and needs our help. When placing your next order at MidwayUSA, please round up.

  • I always round up when I shop at MidwayUSA. Usually, I'll add an extra buck or two on top of that, as well. I tend to prefer to shop there just so that I can send a few extra bucks off to the NRA.

This way I can say that I do support the NRA, and that I give them money to help support the second amendment. I don't, however, have them sending me letters asking for more money, since I'm not officially a member.

  • I'm a midway customer since '06 and round up on every single orders, couple cents won't hurt much. Forget donation to the church...I'd give the NRA ;p

  • Hey, Potterfield didn't say "and that's the way it is."

  • shame we dont have the same thing in australia

  • I always through in the extra half dollar or so when I order.... It adds up.

  • YEAH! I need to be able to buy a semi-auto9mm glock at wal mart at three am! It's my RIGHT!

  • I only wish that we had somthing like this in Australia.

  • The NRA needs [someone like] Larry Potterfield as their main public figure. If I saw less of Nugent and more of Larry I would join in a heartbeat. I feel strongly that the second amendment should not be used as a political shuttlecock, it is a right not a privilege to possess and bare firearms. There should be no debate, it's not about the left versus the right it's about what we are entitled.

    Hats off to Larry...
