If Hulu is succesful in adding "American Idol", it will become an even more popular site.
Imagine if every episode from each of Idol's 9 seasons(including season 4, when Carrie Underwood won Idol) is added to Hulu? Hulu may have half a billion more views in less than two years from just their Idol episodes.

If Hulu decides to charge to view their videos, their growth will be stalled. I've heard some of their videos will always be available for free, but for others, folks will have to pay.
Hulu is a great site. How many people will pay money to view some of their videos? Some people don't like to give credit card account numbers over the internet to pay for on line services. There's too much internet theft going on.
Hulu will have to sell many more ads to keep from having to charge users.
