Kosovo The Balkan Dilemma by Ermira Babamusta

This book seeks to grasp the challenges that the international community faces today in confronting the statehood issue of Kosovo, where multilateral diplomatic mechanisms will be assumed to be the critical measure in the strategies used for negotiation. It will analyze the consultative status of the UN and the EU and elaborate on the mechanisms of cooperation between the international players. It will examine multilateral diplomacy and explore the factors influencing the development and drawbacks of the multilateral diplomacy process. This book aims to analyze the behavior and actions taken by the international players, in particular the US, Russia, the UN and the EU in the case of Kosovo in the context of the diplomatic agreement process and to analyze their positions in the negotiation phase.

Ky libër i dedikohet dëshmorëve të lirisë së Kosovës, në veçanti familjes dëshmori Kunoviku si dhe çështjes së shqiptarizmit. Në vazhdim të mbrojtes së kulturës dhe historisë shqipëtare, libri "Kosova: Dilema e Ballkanit" sjell një punim shkencor dhe akademik si rezultat i një hulumtimi një-vjeçar në Kosovë dhe New York, nëpërmjet Universitetit Long Island.


Temat kreysore në këtë libër analizojnë rolin dhe vështirësitë e komunitetit ndërkombëtar në zgjidhjen e çështjes së statusit në Kosovë; diskutojnë taktikat e shteteve të përfshira në këtë proçes si dhe efektin e metodave të përdorura gjatë fazave të negociatave. Rëndësi i jepet metodës së diplomacisë të quajtur "negociata me principe" zhvilluar nga dega e drejtësisë e Universitetin të Harvardit, dhe realizuar me sukses në çështjen e kufijve të Ekuadorit (1998-2000); në situatën peng në Iran si dhe në raste të ndryshme ligjore.


Bisedimet dhe koha e negociatave janë ndarë në tre faza: Faza I: Marrëveshje Paqe e përkohshme (1989-1999); (2) Faza II: Marrëveshje Politike e përkohshme (1999-2002); dhe (3) Faza III: Rezolutë e Statusit (2002-2008).


Ermira Babamusta është me origjinë nga Shqipëria, me banim në Manhatan, New York. Tani po vazhdon doktoratën për Shkenca Politike dhe Punë të Jashtme tek Universiteti West Virginia. Në 2008 mbaroi Masterin e dytë në Shkenca Politike dhe Diplomaci; me eksperiencë pune në kryesinë e OKB-së (New York- Departamenti i Paqes) si dhe Kongresin Amerikan në Washington DC.

I'm studying the same thing that you did, and although I'm not planning to write a book about Kosovo, I am planning on publishing some articles about it (I have already written a paper on the EU and Kosovo).
