Rolf Harris and Nick Teen and Al K. Hall were on the b side of Tie Me Kangaroo Down in 1960 which reached 9 in the UK Charts those issues were not so news worthy then as they are now, people were told in adverts how booze and cigs could relax and take away the stress!
As a reformed smoker and slightly reformed boozer I can really lay it down on the images ha ha ha sorry
I DELETED THIS ACCIDENTLY (I think) so here goes again
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lyrics
Rolf says this:
Nicholas! Er Albert! Huh look, I don't know where they are, but I'd like, Id like you to meet my two pals, my buddies, my two amigos. I'll tell you all about them - well...
Weeel I never gargled, I never gambled, I never smoked at all.
Until I met my two good amigos, Nick Teen and Al K. Hall.
Strange as it seems, I met in my dreams, Nick Teen and Al K. Hall.
Here's what they said to me, 'Use your head, just see your life is very, very dull"
Well, I never gargled, I never gambled, I never smoked at all.
Until I met my two good amigos, Nick Teen and Al K. Hall.
So I said to Nick, 'Nick tell me quick, what should a fellow do?'
He said to me, 'Boy, easy to see boy, you should try a cigarette or two.'
Well, I never gargled, I never gambled, I never smoked at all.
Until I met my two good amigos, Nick Teen and Al K. Hall.
So I lit a fag, and I took me a drag, then to my great surprise,
I started to gasp, and coughed like a rasp,
And everything spun round before my eyes.
Well, I never gargled, I never gambled, I never smoked at all.
Until I met my two good amigos, Nick Teen and Al K. Hall.
So I said to Al, 'Al, be a pal now, what do you really think?'
He said to me, 'Boy, easy to see boy, smoking's kid's stuff, pour yourself a drink.'
Well, I never gargled, I never gambled, I never smoked at all.
Until I met my two good amigos, Nick Teen and Al K. Hall.
So quick as a wink, I took a drink, swigged a glassful down.
First it seemed to hit me, then it turned around and bit me,
And everything went spinning all around.
Well, I never gargled, I never gambled, I never smoked at all.
Until I met my two good amigos, Nick Teen and Al K. Hall.
But here is the joke, when I awoke, it wasn't finished yet,
I noticed first a terrible thirst
And then a craving for a cigarette.
Well, I never gargled, I never gambled, I never smoked at all.
Until I met my two good amigos, Nick Teen and Al K. Hall.
Take my advice, this smoking is nice and the drinking is really lush.
As you can see, there's no change in me,
I'm still as pure as the driven slush.
Well, I never gargled, I never gambled, I never smoked at all.
Until I met my two good amigos, Nick Teen and Al K. Hall.
Nickateen and Al K. Haaaaa-aall.
    Its so good to here it again
  • LOL!!. I had never heard this one...it sure sums things up. I remember Nick Teen but haven't seen him in years. Al still comes around once in a while, usually trying to get me to join him in some of the mischief that kept us in the trouble years ago. His visits are much shorter now, and he hasn't stayed all night for several years, always seems in a hurry to go spend more time with some of my younger friends...lol..
  • @flammasherman This is sadly a re-recording from around 1963, same will all the versions of tie me kangaroo. I have the original 45 and they contain the original primitive mono recordings made in australia.
  • great,that was my two amigos
  • great,that was my two amigos
  • B side of Tie Me Kangaroo....( although not the original version ).I ' wasted ' a record token buying this through pressure from my parents who thought it was great !.Even then, it was a very ' uncool ' record when there was some great records in that 1960 chart, but this catchy B side made up for it to some extent !.
  • sounds like he said AL-K-HOLE! "Nicked in a now K-Hole"
  • rolfs the answer to united peace...fuck cameron...bush...and all the so called leaders of this fake world..rolf for el presidento..
