Second Hundred Years with Monte Markham (1 of 3) No Experience Necessary (11/22/1967)
The Second Hundred Years TV show was a 30 minute comedy series with a sci-fi twist that aired on ABC. It was about a man who was prospecting for gold in Alaska in the year 1900 when he became covered with snow in an avalanche. When he was thawed out 67 years later, he was alive, perfectly healthy and hadn't aged a day!
Second Hundred Years Cast:
Monte Markham ............. Luke Carpenter / Ken Carpenter
Arthur O'Connell .......... Edwin Carpenter
Frank Maxwell ............. Colonel Garroway
Karen Black ............... Marcia Garroway
Don Beddoe ................ Mr. Tolliver
Bridget Hanley ............ Lieutenant Anderson
Always liked Monte Markham. Great good looking everyman. This was another terrific classic 60's FUN show when I was 12. Clean and classic back in the day. Maybe I'll come back in my second hundred years! Sponsored by Glory too! What ever happened to that product? Love it!

@AnitaCock This is from a 8mm black and white home print for people to watch at home. Of course Viacom or whoever still has the original 35mm films... in the warehouse. I've definitely don't remember seeing reruns in the 70's of this.

Thanks for posting. I could remember only images from this show. But had forgotten the cast and even the title of it.

This show ran for 26 episodes, not 2. You can find a list of episodes at IMDb and some information about the show on Wikipedia. My copy of "Guide to TV" from TV Guide 2006 gives the shows air dates as Sept. 6 1967 - March 28, 1968. A that's a fact.

History fact: The Second Hundred Years was the show that replaced the Batman series in the Thursday evening 7:30 p.m. timeslot after the Dynamic Duo wore out their welcome on ABC's schedule in March 1968. However, the sitcom fared no better than Batman in the ratings and was also canceled before the month was out, after just two episodes at 7:30.

Arthur O'Connell was a fantastic actor.
He was great at both comedy and drama.

Unbelievable. I knew the opening verbatim. Of course, I didn't have a life in high school.
