  • So, they reacted good to the first cover song..which was this one, The Gambler, right?

By the sixth one weren't you people booing them off the stage? If not throwing things at them.

  • This was actually about 4th. They started off with "Louie, Louie", "Hang on Sloopy" (the OSU fight song, which was cool because this venue is on OSU's campus) and then "Monster Mash". I dunno what the rest of the covers were.

No one threw stuff, but people did heckle a bit by the sixth song which was some jazz medley thing. They covered Iron Butterfly's "In-Da-Gadda-Da-Vida" and Corgan stormed off in mid set...

  • like he was mad at Jeff for screwing up songs. But then they came back and played two hours. Billy at one point told everyone that storming off was the "trick" of the evening, and that the rest of the show was the "treat" for the fans.

This one actually got a decent reaction, i think just because Billy was ramblin' about nonsense and being Billy Corgan. lol

  • What was everyones reaction when he introduced The Gambler? You went to an alternative rock concert and he sings you a classic country song.

  • The Pumpkins actually did a bunch of cover songs that evening, kind of serving as their own "opening act". People were getting sick of it by the sixth straight cover and they played 10 of them before they all stomped off, got into their regular clothes and played two hours of their material. They only played 4 songs that's weren't new stuff though (siva, today, bullet with butterfly wings and heavy metal machine)...and that was kinda disappointing.

however, it was a good show though.

  • Since you were apparently there, you can answer me a question. :) I got the official audio of this show (and it was great, btw), and was wondering who was singing on in-a-gadda-da-vida. Was that Billy? It sure didn't sound like him (at least to me).

  • It wasn't Billy...I have no idea who was singing that...I think some dude named "Doug" or something. He looked to be like a person friend or a roadie of the band or something. Maybe some really big diehard fan would know, but I didn't have the slightest clue who it was.
