CEGEP Gun Threat

On Monday night someone posted a pic on 4chan which included a t-shirt, Guy Fawkes mask, 2 hand guns, 2 magazines and a bunch of bullets. Along with it was a card with "21/04/08 MTL-QC" written on it, as proof it wasn't fake. The serial numbers on the guns were also shooped out.

Media says Ohio police were tipped off, and they contacted Montreal police (after their tip had been passed around)...but in fact, Montrealers also contacted Montreal police directly.

Stupid idiot...

Let me understand this. Someone posts a picture that they own handguns and they shut a school down?

Just because you take a picture of your guns doesn't mean your going to use them for violence.

I have owned guns for 20 years, and have pictures of them. But I only would use my for target shooting or self defense.

And its illegal to use a gun even for self defence in Canada, unless under EXTREME circumstance.

But anyhow, what exactly was the threat? Did they have a note or something in the picture?

Well the Canadian Criminal Code says otherwise.

Next to the picture it said "Cegep du vieux montreal, tommorow. This is not a copypasta. You will see."

A little while after his post was taken down, he created a new one with a 3 line story in french. Someone translated it, but I didn't save it.

Okay, I can understand why that was taken as a POSSIBLE threat.

As far as what the law says regarding protecting yourself. Well, When my life is in danger, I dont care what the law is. Im going to use whatever means necessary to defend myself or my family even to the extent of using a firearm.

When it comes to my or my children's safety, I am not going to rely on the Police or other government agencies to "rescue" them.

I would do the same for your family as well.
