This cinematic was made for StarCraft Legacy (www.sclegacy.com). StarCraft Legacy is an award winning officially authorized fan site. It is more than eleven years old and is the web's best source for StarCraft and StarCraft II news, editorials and features. It contains the best and most accessible StarCraft lore resource.

Synopsis:

The cinematic can be enjoyed by everybody, but it will resonate especially with well versed StarCraft fans.
It takes place four days prior to the start of the first single player campaign from StarCraft, focusing on the first contact between the Protoss and the Terrans, as executor Tassadar is sent to cleanse Terran colonies of the Zerg infestation.
These events are spoken of during the game, but we never saw how it all happened. Until now.

Great credit goes to our long time friend and collaborator, Phillip Sacramento (www.aspects-of-voice.net) for his portrayal of Tassadar.

  • Realize that this is the Gantrithor. Of course those BCs couldn't handle it.

  • Executor, please tell me you meant Zerg on the planet.. it doesn't take a genius to know that zerg can't have mech.

  • @crazy88boss Ah. My bad on that. Then again, I really don't know the whole story about the Terran's first contact with the Protoss other than this. But I think that Tassadar would've made sure that there were no more lingering forces before asking for the fleet to warp in. It did look like he tried to warn the Confederate BCs before he took them out. But that's just from what I see and what I know. I could be completely wrong.

  • @JohnMasterCheif I didn't say Wraith could detect; I meant that they are good scouts. Targets cloaked by an Arbiter do not appear on the mini-map but a Wraith pilot could report what he *saw*, as it only takes one look to notice cloak distortion. To my knowledge, Chau Sara had no Wraith though. I only mentioned the fleet cloak as a precautionary measure.

  • @crazy88boss I think the Protoss though it was safe. Though I don't get how they can see Terrans as Zerg. As for the ability of the Arbiters, you have a point on that. And I don't think you mean Wraiths. They have no detection ability, Science Vessels do. And there's also the excuse that fleet was not the entirety of overall Protoss fleet, just the ones for that area and felt that even if some saw them, they wouldn't have lived to tell about it.

  • @JohnMasterCheif Energy manipulation has always been easy for Protoss so Arbiters with Recall/Cloak is always feasible. Also, you never expose your numbers to the enemy except to when you intend to feint; you never know when you are being watched. In-game you have Parasites and Wraith that can reveal your forces. Could have decloaked the fleet after a few moments, don't you think?

  • @crazy88boss Arbiters never could cloak themselves and why waste the energy after a huge mass recall to cloak all those ships when there's no threat...that and what kind of cinematic would it be if you can't see the giant fleet?

  • That was great and all but what's up with Arbiter no cloakie?

  • 1:40 mass carrier for the win

  • Marine jumps with + 10,000 athletics and avoids planets destruction

  • if they make this as a movie will be 100 times better than transformers
