wtf happened to the John Wayne-type, gritty, fun, ACTUALLY INTERESTING, WWII movies? really. who needs war horse or battle los angeles? what I really want is another saving private ryan of full metal jacket, or i guess platoon. anything with a plot that makes sense and is interesting, and better acting/directing would be just great.

I'll probably end up watching battleship simply because i'm a big sci-fi fan and there's not much in the way of good sci-fi being released lately. at least in comparison to other genres.
