In September 2003 Omar joined to Big Brother VIP 2, where he stayed 64 days and He was the champion, obtaining an absolute majority with 64% of the votes , becoming the first man to win a reality show in Mexico.

Beyond irony and shame
Beyond cultural critique
Or charges of escapism
Here is the raw ecstasy
Of the people chanting for their conquering hero
Who is them
And more than them,
For he is all of them as one.
On this fleeting moment we can almost see
The burning fleet of Cortez sliding into the ocean
The final tomb of the conquerors
And Omar stands above the tallest pyramid
Obsidian knife on one hand
Beating Spaniard heart on the other
And the people offer their attention in unison
And in this brief moment
In this unified sphere of adoration
Tenochtitlan rises once again
From the dark depths of forgetfulness
And the scattered tombstones of Coca Cola billboards.
Before we know it, it is over
And we all go back to our TV sets
Hoping to invoke the inmortal hero of blood and victory
One more time.
