From my site, Unique-Homemade-Gifts.com: You can learn how to tie a french knot. This is a basic knot for hand embroidery, especially cross stitch. It adds dimension to your project. (There is no sound on this video.)

You can read more about this knot on my site.

  • when u stick the needle back into the cloth, do u stick it into the same hole where the thread is? or next to it.. because i have the kind of cloth thats little boxes so i think it wouldnt look good if i put it in another hole.. ?

  • @gamahamoud If you put the needle back into the same hole, you will end up pulling your knot through your work. It needs to go next to it. When using aida cloth (the fabric with squares in it), you need to make sure you have a few threads in-between where you came up & where you go back down. Even using plastic canvas, there needs to be some fabric or plastic between your up and down points to keep the knot from pulling through.
