I use a Lyman DPS 1200 electronic dispensor. I can keep loads programmed into memory. I also use the Dillon Precision scale as a back-up. You never know when things might break down.

  • I'm just considering in purchasing one of those. Are you still satisfied with yours? Any problems with it?

  • @alenleroc So far no problems. I am going my third year with this unit. Best birthday gift from my wife...

  • @sierrareloader The latest version is DPS III which one is yours?

  • @alenleroc Mine is the DPS II

  • Is there a good manual dispenser? It seems the electronic ones take forever

  • @762full You can use the RCBS Uniflow powder measure. You still might have to trickle a bit with it.

  • @brandonhornsby I have not have issues with mine yet. I am very, very happy with mine. I was originally going for a Chargemaster but at the time none were in stock. So I got the Lyman instead and havent looked back. Regardless of which one you get, keep the scale for a back up. Anything electronic will break eventually. Either way you wont be dissapointed on what you buy.

  • Im highly considering getting an electronic powder measure. The Lyman dps really looks alot faster then the RCBS chargemaster, plus I like the lay out a lot more with the Lyman. Just seems more efficient and better lay out for reloading. However I have seen on some of the reloading message forums that the Lyman has a few issues such as locking up and having to turn it off and back on occasionally. Is this true?

Other then that one potential issue the Lyman seems to be the best one.

  • What is the best powder to use for 9mm and .45 ACP? I just ran out of my old school Unique. I shoot ball mostly.

  • Wow, sweet power dispensor. I have an old school RCBS normal scale with weights and I load it by hand. I know it takes forever. lol
