Dr. Roger Beachy, Director of the National Institute for Food and Agriculture (NIFA), USDA, was in France on May 2-6. At a conference organized in the French National Institute for Research in Agriculture (INRA), and at a conference on food industry and future perspectives organized by the local authority of Moselle (Eastern France), he presented his perspectives for green technologies to increase agricultural productivity and produce biomaterials in order to meet the grand societal challenges that are global food security and agricultural sustainability.
Monsieur Roger Beachy, directeur de l'institut de recherche pour l'alimentation et l'agriculture du ministère de l'agriculture américain, était en France du 2 au 6 mai 2011. A l'occasion d'une conférence organisée par l'INRA (Institut National de la Recherche Agronomique), et d'un colloque organize par le Conseil Général de la Moselle, il a présenté sa vision de l'apport des technologies vertes pour augmenter la productivité agricole et produire des biomatériaux afin de relever les grands défis sociétaux que constituent la sécurité alimentaire mondiale et la durabilité de l'agriculture.
